A Men's Retreat
Armor off. Presence on.
The Invitation
Men spend their lives holding it together. At work. In relationships. Even with friends. There's always an image to maintain, a role to play, an expectation to meet. The armor goes on so early we forget we're wearing it.
This retreat is about taking it off.
Not to fix anything. Not to achieve anything. Not to become a better version of yourself. Just to remember what it feels like to exist in a body, in a place, with other men who are doing the same.
Nine days on Ireland's west coast. A house on the edge of the sea. Six men. No agenda beyond presence. No breakthroughs required.
You'll have space to be alone when you need it, and company when you want it. You'll photograph the landscape. You'll share meals. You'll walk into the ocean. You'll sit in circles and say the things you don't usually say. You'll go to the pub and laugh until it hurts.
This is not therapy. This is not a workshop. This is a container for being human — in full view of other humans.
What Happens
Morning ocean immersion. Breathwork on the beach. Optional clothing-free spaces. Movement without mirrors. The invitation is to inhabit your body fully — not to optimize it, just to feel it.
Daily photography excursions through Connemara, the Sky Road, ancient stone walls, and wild coastlines. Evening image sharing. The chance to make something without judgment or competition.
Shared meals cooked together. Circles where you speak and are witnessed. Pair walks in silence. Pub nights with music and pints. Brotherhood without force.
Daily Rhythm
Optional cold water, breathwork, movement. Coffee on the terrace. Silence until you're ready to speak.
Photography excursions. Driving the coastline. Exploring ruins, villages, landscapes. Making images.
Free time. Naps. Solo walks. Editing. Journaling. Whatever you need.
Group dinner. Image sharing. Circle practice. Or a taxi to the pub for pints and traditional music.
The Place
Dolphin Beach House sits on the Sky Road outside Clifden, with the ocean at the bottom of the garden and 14 acres of wild landscape surrounding it.
Six bedrooms. High ceilings. Wooden floors. A kitchen for cooking together. A terrace for watching the weather roll in. A small sandy cove a short walk through the gardens.
"Great style, great design, astonishing views out of the ocean and, best of all, a feeling of being far, far away from it all."
